stone washed memories
like a smoke cloud incision...

and i awake
The burn would run all night and morning
Gurgling seductively outside my bedroom window
Golden brown and bubbling over the peat-moss moors
Sounds of scratching fowls and swishing cows...
Often I'll wait with bated breath,
While on Grecian steps I lie,
For their clamour. But, with a whimpering sigh
Of wasted hope, I stand alone....
