Prison Walls

by Niki M

Why do you offend me so? Awake me from my blissful sleep? Protect my mouth from vile crumbs? Prevent my mind from function norm? The beat by my breast belongs to you. The thoughts that consume my mind. Day in, day out; Modern day parchement sat in my lap, an elegant quill positioned in palm allows my barred mind in prison walls to be broken free, released; my emotions, my mind allowed to wander, to be exposed, expressed, no concerns, worries. Your body entwined with hers; it breaks me, But only my paper is to share this pain. My feelings consume me, I only want you. So I wait, one day we can be at peace.
