Your Face

by maliha neesa

The first weeks came and went
Time encroaching, slowly spent.
Thoughts of you day and night,
In the despair of darkness and glare of light.
Looking at the passers by
But they are not you,
They don't have your eyes.
I know where you should be,
I go to that place,
Amongst all those strangers
I don't see your face.

Weeks have come and
weeks have gone,
With whom can I share my pain?
There is none.
Where could you be?
I keep asking myself.
Come and save me
From my personal hell.
I know where you should be,
I go to that place.
Amongst all those strangers
I still don't see your face.

I think, I feel,
I may never see you again,
I know where you should be,
Because I am in that place.
But now I am so breathless
I can't even look at your face.
