THE ROSE
by
Beerwah, Australia
May the rosebuds of yesterday
Be the blooms for today
And the fragrance of tomorrow
Oh! The dusky pink rose in the twilight snow
Pale green tulips beginning to grow
Shadows fall from deep within
Where can I go to hide my sin
Daffodils glisten and start to open
Snowdrops and bluebells carpet the glen
When words and thoughts cannot explain
I look to the rose, so perfect, again
Little white flowers pushing through
Timber so hard, everything new
Colours so glorious, precious and grand
I must kneel and yet I stand
Fragrance, fragrance, softness and love
Heaven sent fragrance sent from above
Lord, I thank you for this beautiful day
Lord, I thank you for this beautiful day
Today we live
What we shaped yesterday
And dream for tomorrow
So may the rosebuds of yesterday
Be the blooms for today
And the fragrance of tomorrow
