Tread Lightly I Pray You

by gary butcher

Tread lightly i pray you
take care
there's plenty beneath
to beware
this bountiful land that
we share
has been planted with woe
and despair

There's plenty of work to
be done
and play in the field is
no fun
in our land of blue sky and
bright sun
grim harvest of death
has begun

So tread lightly i pray you
dont stray
on true path through our pasture
please stay
come back to my arms
every day
dream our future made again
a safe way
