The Brave One

by April Williams

The Brave One
April Williams

Into me I see the troubles from within
Surely telling me that this fight I will not win
Into me I see disaster from the heart
Painted on my memory, as if a work of art
Into me I breathe the toxic earthy air
Grasping on my arteries, and crushing with despair
Into me I see my most beautiful memories,
Marinating within them, my greatest remedies
Into me I see hope still there for tomorrow
To face the world with head held high, and courage that was borrowed
Inadequate to a world, dominated by men
I'll only find the courage here so
INTO ME I"LL STAND
