No more words

by gemma fisher

I see the way you look at me
You love me
You can't say the words
You love me

We eat fish and chips, drink rosé, laugh
I love you
I can't say the words
I love you

We build a bookshelf, I drop the bookshelf
You love me
You can't say the words
You love me

I cry, you put those arms around me
I love you
I can't say the words
I love you

You're outside, you've made me sandwiches
You love me
You can't say the words
You love me

You kiss me, I hold on to you, we make love
I love you
I can't say the words
I love you

We drink, we dance, we hug, we laugh
You love me
You can't say the words
You love me

We lie naked side by side
I love you
I can't say the words
I love you

We sit in silence, an elephant in the room
You love me
You can't say the words
You love me

We pack, we clean, we cry, goodbye
I love you
I can't say the words
I love you
