Flesh

by Stewart Melton

This puzzle
troubles me.

I see you
seeing me
seeing you
seeing me,
you see?

            And
I know that
you know that
I know that,

you know,
             that
now I am
touching you
touching me
touching you

(hands hold breath
catches cold
hot skin swells)

we become
more than You
or Me: a
third person.
Two become
One makes Three.

You call it
obsession
but I need
to be sure -

in our flesh,
our one flesh,
the feeling's
mutual,
right?
