The Magic Child
by
Hull, UK
And it stretched and straddled the gap
of over a billion light years wide
the string that held the swing on
which the magic mind would ride
They looked from earth and thought they'd seen
the blazing tail of a comet
but I knew I'd seen an angel swing
with a smiling child upon it
Her hair was strewn with diamond stars
her face was full of light
and she took control of all the skies
and flew into the night.
of over a billion light years wide
the string that held the swing on
which the magic mind would ride
They looked from earth and thought they'd seen
the blazing tail of a comet
but I knew I'd seen an angel swing
with a smiling child upon it
Her hair was strewn with diamond stars
her face was full of light
and she took control of all the skies
and flew into the night.
