Lilacs and Blood
by
Darwen, UK
Pale violet.
Lilac.
A beautiful colour, don’t you think?
Striking, symbolic and
resonant with a beguiling charm.
It’s my favourite flower.
Would you like one, sweetheart?
Shiny granite.
Silver.
A bitter, drab colour, don’t you think?
Deceptive, morose and
misleading to those that gaze on it.
It’s a hateful colour, dear.
Why ask me for such things?
Crimson, sanguine.
Red.
A beautiful colour, did you say?
Striking, symbolic and
resonant with a beguiling charm.
Well that’s what I think, petal.
You bring me to such things.
