Mum You are the Best

by Shola Delip

You are the cushion when I fall,
You support me when I call,
You give me guidance when I ask,
You are the master of every task.

You are the sunlight in my day,
You are the moon I see far away,
You are the tree I lean upon,
You are the best friend I rely on.

You care with all your heart,
You have loved me from the start,
You are the one who brought me down to earth,
You are the one who gracefully gave me birth.

You are the mum I am so proud to claim,
You are gentle yet so strong,
You I thank for the tender care,
You give me hugs and is always there.

You are one in a trillion,
Your kiss cost more than a million,
Your hug put joy in our days,
You touch our lives in precious ways.
You are my mother so precious and dear
You will be loved for ever and ever,
You are so special than words can express,
You are simply the best!

Perhaps a little long - would be more striking a stanza less I feel.
