Nothing

by russell brierley

There’s nothing left to do,
That I haven’t already done and
I’ve done nothing.
Nothing left to see, that I haven’t already seen,
and I only look in front of me.
There’s nothing, I’ve ever wanted to see.
Or any place, I’ve ever wanted to be.
I pour a drink and reminisce.
About the nothing in my life.
No disappointment or adventure.
No love or despair.
No one to hold or fight,
Just an empty soulless thing called life.
No reason for happiness, misery or pride.
Just an empty bottle of life.
Treasured solely by my own existence.
My determination to be just me.
