Poem - MAG Poetry Prize 2010
Words
by
Mumbai, India
Tangled up, messy, hurtful,
Kind, encouraging, hopeful,
They can be anything we want,
Just like our minds,
Despite having control over them, sometimes we don’t,
Apologies are made,
Yet sometimes it’s too late,
Once spoken they rarely fade,
They have hurt you like a spade,
All that is left to say is,
Don’t give them the power to affect you,
Today should be a day of bliss,
Not one that is blue,
Let it hit and miss,
Please don’t let my harsh words affect you…
