Dusk

by Gabriella Alexander

The light recedes
Behind
The trees and lights
Fold out electric
Strips across
The Lake,
No thought for sleep.
The birds, in trees,
In lake, must
Hood their
Eyes,
Hide lids in down
And bury heads in
 Rest.
