Taken Into Care

by helen ann williams

O.K Will do.
The message replied
But they knew no answer came from Give her my love.

There is no joy, her heart had said, all gone and time to go.
Oh hurry my end ,oh hurry my end please !
But her bones said No.

And so we gather each other for every fall to spread the net which does not stretch.

Settled and slept the care plan said.
But every sigh had not been heard, while endlessly on
The need to know

" Where am I ?
Why am I here ?
Who sent me and when are you taking me home ? "

But steadfastly on
The truth of life waited.
And at the last, breathing on her,
" You are you.
You are mine.
You are loved.
You are home. "

I love the first three lines, and the story conveyed through the voices; structure needs tightening up, though; it could read much better
