FOR THE LITTLE GIRLS WHO DREAM...

by Joydan Dawson

For the little girl who walks miles in South Africa just to get water

For the little girl in Venezuela who holds the responsibility of acting parent in her household

For the little girl in Brooklyn who can’t look her mother in the eyes and bare to tell her, her "baby's having a baby"

For the little girl in Tokyo who is living out her fathers dream rather then her own

For the little girl in Hawaii who sits under the sunset and asks herself everyday is she's beautiful

For the little girl in Paris who practically starves herself to fit the stereotypical "image" of a model

For the little girl who in Chicago who wears make-up and sunglasses, not for fashion but so no one will notice the bruises he left on her

For the little girl in Nigeria who keeps silent so her husband can feel more dominant

For the little girl in Las Vegas who thinks the only way she can pay rent on time is to open her legs at night

For the little girl in Atlanta that wants to know her who her parents are

For the little girl in Washington D.C. who went to the clinic not knowing and walked out HIV positive

For the little girl in San Diego who saved herself for the "wrong" man

For the little girls who live in this world with disadvantages and make it out with an education. For the little girl who Dream...
