Ode to the Dark one...

by Tanya McGarry

Sweet, sweet kisses at the start,
Softly, gently stole my heart
Whispered words across my eyes,
Blinded me, full of surprise
I was lost before we started
Even more so when we parted
Confused? Relieved? Shredded heart?
This was wrong form the start
I shouldn't have met you, shouldn't have gone there
Shouldn't have believed that I wouldn't care
And now it's just me - lost & alone
A mound of broken pieces the legacy to my throne
So afraid to move, so afraid to stay
For every part of me I gain, another dies each day
I did not do this on purpose
