Life

by John Fry

I chanced upon a sixpence
Lying on the floor
I picked it up
Tossed the coin
It opened up a door
Stairs led down or was it up
Or was it just the floor
Looking down
I clambered up til I stood upon a door
I took a chance and opened it
And fell upon the floor
I chanced upon a sixpence
