Port na Ba

by Lucy Alexander

Landscape of lochs
of green trees and heather;
sheep - not in flocks,
ptarmigan's feather;

Cul Mor, Stac Polly,
the Wayfarers' Bar;
haddock and colley,
whisky in the jar.

The sea comes in
while I sit here and write,
the divers swim,
then duck out of sight;

Like mystery men
or seals off the pier -
they bob up again
and then disappear.
