In Memory of David

by Randall Wheeler

When life’s challenges gather to create perfect storm,
When perspective is lost and desperation the norm,
Lest we learn we are nothing without family and friends,
And without love and forgiveness there is no amends,
A danger lurks there of an insidious thought,
That the world would be better if in it we’re naught,
And so my friend succumbed to his internal despair,
To make the world a better place, his assumption in error.
Let not this tragedy end without lesson,
Hug your friends and your family, love and forgive them.
